Rosanna Kassis

rosanna-kassisFormer Australian and Oceania Champion Rosanna Kassis is the Principal Instructor of the academy.  5th Dan certified in Japan by world renowned  Grand Master Kenei Mabuni and also 5th Dan certified by international governing body – the World Shitoryu Karate-Do Federation (WSKF).  She has been training in the traditional art of Shitoryu for more than 30 years.

She competed successfully in state, national and international levels of competition in both disciplines of Kumite and Kata, and represented Australia as member of the Australian National Team from 1999-2002. She achieved various gold medals in Individual and Team events with one of her most distinguished achievements being silver medal at the World Shitoryu Karate-Do Championships.

Once retired from competition Rosanna pursued teaching and refereeing.  Through intense examination processes she achieved and currently holds World Referee A and World Kata Judge A status.  These are the highest qualifications within the World Karate Federation (WKF) and she is the first and only female in Australia to achieve both licenses. 

Currently Rosanna holds the following positions:

  • Deputy President – Karate Victoria
  • Member – Karate Australia Referee Commission
  • Member – World Karate Federation Women’s Commission (WKF) 
  • Vice President – Asia Pacific Shitoryu Karate-do Federation (APSKF)
  • Director – World Shitoryu Karate-do Federation (WSKF)

Her greatest passion is to give positive influence to children in their formative years.  To contribute to the physical and mental development in people and enhance everyone’s potential to be successful, through the Academy’s reputable training program.
